Parking in and around Fort Sanders can be at first be challenging. But we want to first make parking knowable and doable and also to help us all see parking as a basic and important way to welcome visitors well and serve one another. For those who are new to Redeemer, we want parking to be a “no-brainer” and for those who are “at home” with Redeemer, we want this to be a great opportunity to celebrate the gospel by serving others.

THE PLAN

The parking plan really is simple: we need more and more of those who are “at home” in Redeemer to park in the available outlying areas away from the church building. This will free the more immediate spaces in close proximity to the facility for those who are new or in need of closer parking.

TIME TO PARK

Also, if you're newer to Redeemer, give yourself extra time to arrive in our neighborhood of Fort Sanders and navigate your way to parking and then to our facility. If you have guests with you, we always encourage folks to drive up in our front lot and drop any guests off at our "front door" and then park.

Whether our Sunday Services begin at 9am & 11am (or seasonally at 10:30 am), please allow time to park and walk to the church by arriving between 10 to 15 minutes early.

PARKING SPACES & PLACES

As you look for parking, here are the various parking opportunities available for those who come to worship on Sundays:

  • Help us keep our RESERVED PARKING SPACES open - The 15 parking spots in the front lot are reserved for visitors, special needs such as handicap/disabled parking and late arrivals. For other parking options, consider the following...
  • We have permission to use Covenant Health's 5-STORY HOSPITAL GARAGE - We have permission to freely use the hospital parking garage located on 19th Street between Laurel and Highland. A hang tag for your car is needed when you leave the garage. Speak with one of the pastors after a service to pick up a parking permit tag.
  • For the Adventurous - STREET PARKING is available around the fort. Please make sure you are not parking in reserved spots for which we do not have permission to use. We want to be great neighbors and a blessing to those who call the Fort home. We also do not want to garner a reputation for taking other folks reserved parking.
  • As a Last Resort - TWO REAR LOTS are available behind the church building and can be accessed by the alley that runs right behind the church. We recommend using these after the Commuter lot has reached capacity. Please Note: Use the top deck of the International Student Housing parking garage only as a last resort if you are late in coming.

FEEDBACK?

We hope these parking helps help. And by all means, please feel free to give us any feedback or insights that will help make parking a "no-brainer" for all those visting with us on Sunday. You can pass your feedback along here: email.
