Redeemer Church of Knoxville began public worship together on January 11, 2004. As of this writing, we are about to complete our seventh year of life together.  And what a seven years it has been.

We have seen this little church plant have its beginning in small places (living rooms and the Metron building in our pre-launch phase) and in free places (the Candy Factory, for almost 2 years) and now in an old place (the former Fort Sanders Baptist church facility, first as renters and now a owners). We have seen this new church work begin with only a dozen or so folks who longed to see God do something new and amazing in a place that for so long had only seen the church's influence diminish (the university-urban center of Knoxville). And now Redeemer gathers 400+ folks on a given Sunday from all over Knoxville in the urban center to celebrate the gospel of Jesus and serve with each other the urban poor in our midst.

There are so many stories of God's grace and mercy at work in our midst and in the lives of our friends that make us weep and laugh and give thanks.  Redeemer is a diverse gathering of Christ's saints in an historic place for the humble and simple purpose of following Jesus and loving and serving all whom he brings across our path. We laugh most of all that he has redeemed even us and called us to this joyous place and purpose of being his body in the heart of Knoxville. So we invite you, if you're so inclined to do so, to find out more about us. We'd love to meet you one day soon. Until then, read on...
